Under the guidance of the Director and/or the Assistant Director, the Professional Golf Management Student Society provides opportunities in leadership and the development of relevant skills for the golf industry.  As a student organization, it is managed by PGM students and serves as a representative body for PGM student interests. For example, the PGM Student Society will elect its own board and officers, prepare a schedule of regular meetings, and develop an agenda for each meeting.

In addition to providing opportunities in leadership and skill development, a major goal of the society is to involve students in as many aspects of the Program as feasible. For example, the Student Society could assist in recruiting prospective students, organize and conduct student tournaments, organize and conduct social events, develop a mentor program for PGM students, and arrange to assist local golf facilities in conducting tournaments, clinics, etc.
