Match Play

The Match Play is a tournament that is limited to 64 PGM students.  It is a single elimination tournament to find out who the best Match Play player is.  Each match is an 18 hole Match, except for the finals which is a 36 hole Match.

The Matches may be played at any course as long as both competitors agree on the course, date, and time.  Most people play at Pine Creek because it’s free.  If the two competitors cannot decide on a course, they must play at Pine Creek.

There is no entry fee for this tournament, but there is a pay-out for the top 4 places.  First and Second will play a 36 match to decide the winner.  We will also have a consolation match between third and fourth, this will only be an 18 hole match.

*Note* All prizes will be paid in the form of PGM credit for Titleist and Foot-Joy.

The deadlines for each match are very tight and must be strictly enforced to ensure there is a champion before the end of the semester.  IF THE COMPETITORS CANNOT FIND TIME, IT IS A MANDATORY 9 HOLES AT 3:00PM THE DAY OF THE DEADLINE.

The winner of each match is responsible for the results.  They must email their results to the Tournament Coordinator; if you fail to email me the results before 10pm on the deadline date a coin will be tossed and the winner of the coin toss will advance.  ANY PERSON WHO FAILS TO SHOW FORFEITS!

An updated bracket will be emailed to everyone on every Monday following a deadline.  The Match Play bracket in the PGM Resource Room will also be updated on every Monday following a deadline.
